Life is basically just a series of trials and errors. That’s just how it is. It is how you seize the opportunities of the trials, and accept the mistakes of the errors that tend to showcase who you are.

Throughout your life, you’re going to have to make decisions for yourself in order to reach your goals and be happy. I’m not talking about the romance novel happy; I’m talking about happiness you feel in every aspect of life. A smile on a drive in traffic, a laugh at an unfortunate situation. A happiness that cannot be contained just because of a bump in the road. As selfish as that may seem, people around you are going to do the same thing.

It is how you think about your decisions, and follow through with them that really matters. If you are putting your all into something, if you are being genuine and sincere about your decisions, you have nothing to be sorry for. If your mindset is that of importance, well-being and simply being ecstatic about life… there is really no wrong decision.

Personally, I have a really difficult time with this. I want to please everyone around me. I want all of my decisions to make sense to everyone, and to match up with what they expect me to be. With what they expect of me. The thing is, it doesn’t really matter whether my actions add up with what is expected of me or not.

At the end of the day, the loving and accepting hearts will shine through and become very obvious to you.

The beginning of a happy life starts with accepting yourself. It starts with loving yourself, and every part of who you are. That is what inspired the brand ‘psithurism.’ a brand dedicated to self-love. I have been representing this start-up for a month or so now, and I love the fact that Drea Torres is trying to push women and men to own up to their unique aspects.

Here’s an example; I am a klutz. I have size nine feet {perhaps way too big for my body} that I trip over all of the time. I also forget things very easily and I can be scatterbrained at times. I love to sleep in and eat food that isn’t necessarily good for me.

And you know what? I love myself. I love that I trip and fall sometimes because it can lighten the mood. I love that I forget things because I can hear something for the second time and still be extremely excited about it {people get more excited about this than one would think.} I can watch a movie over and over and still get surprised. I love that I can allow myself to be well-rested. Also, chocolate can get me through anything, and it makes me work out a little harder than normal.

The point is, love yourself before others try and take that love away from you. I’m telling you it will happen, but you have the power to overcome it. Turn the other cheek, raise your head and look in the mirror. The person staring back at you is awesome and amazing, and deserves to be loved. As soon as this revelation comes to you, the love around you will come into focus. The journey and the effort are worth more than the love itself.
